Guest guest
Namaste: Devi, the prayer we say to bless the food as we offer it prior to our meals is in the Shree Maa Cook book. In that prayer we ask Mother Annapurna, to bless our food. I do not have the book at home, so I cannot quote it here. A slightly different version for offering food is in the Kali puja text, P. 78, First Edition, published 1996. There are several editions of this text. Om Annapurne sada purne sankarapranavallabha jnanavairagyasiddharytham bhiksam dehi namo-stu te Mata ca parvati devi pita devo mahesvarah bandhavah sivabhaktasca svadeso bhuvanatrayam Om hrim srim krim paramesvari kalike svaha bhog - naivedyam samarpayami Also, the food offering to Shiva is in the " offering section " of the Advanced Shiva puja text book. This mantra could be used when offering food too. One can offer all the food one has cooked, prior to serving it, in the kitchen. One can also prepare a plate of food and offer it at your altar, to your murti of Shiva, etc. Once the plate has been offered, you can bring the food back and mix it into all the food one has made, and then offer it to your family. When one is cooking the food, one can repeat the following mantra over and over, either aloud or to onesself. Keep focused on the mantra, and preparing the food. Do not talk to others or engage in other activities while cooking. This will make the food holy, by raising its vibration. Om bhur bhuvah svah tat savitur varenyam bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyo yo nah pracodayat Maa has recommended these techniques to help us. By keeping the mind on these mantras, it allows one to see and experience Shiva in everything, and as everything. What a way to create pure nourishment for our families.
