Guest guest
Namaste Sal, in this technique, we focus on the chakras as stated. Base of spine, belly button area, solar plexis area, heart, throat, and crown of head. There is another at the 3rd eye location. I was speaking to a devotee today and I do not think this technique can be taught by this method. You ned to hear Swami recite each mantra and follow him step by step as he performs it aloud. Swmai's Cosmic puja class is stored on-line at the www.shreemaa.org is the best way to learn. I know your computer is slow and you may not be able to access it. If you are really interested in learning the technique, I will talk to Swami and see if there is some way to make a CD of the class and mail it to you. Jai Maa Jai Swami vishweshwar , " sal. Guest guest
Hi Vish, I don't wish to be contrary, but what makes you think another can't benefit from this practice as you describe it here? This has not been my experience at all. I have learned and benefited from many things I received in written form. True, there is often a period of refinement, until the practice is integrated, but my experience suggests the most important thing is faith in and devotion toward God and Guru. My belief is (right or wrong) that if the connection to the Guru is strong s/he will visit on a subtle level and establish the practice if it is right for you. None of this discounts the fact that hearing from the mouth of the Guru is by far and away the best way to receive any practice. Jai Maa! Chris Jai Maa! Guest guest
Namaste, One answer: different traditions have different numbers: 6, 7, 10 and 14 are some I've seen. Sufis have thirty-something, and Taoists another number again. My understanding is that there is a general swirl of energy called the astral body, with various mini-swirls or sensitive points to focus the mind on. Different traditions divide up the pie differently, or focus on different spots. It may also be relevant that the the " 7th chakra " , the Sahasrara, is not really a chakra in some traditions, but rather the portal to what is beyond the chakras. Jai Maa! Guest guest
Namaste Vishweshwar, This sounds like a very fruitful idea. To make a CD of that class or even just that part would be very helpful to those of us that choose to practice in this fashion. It would deffinately be helpful for us new bes that need to be able to pause, back up and look at things a few times. Even if he cld just do a close up video of going through the whole charkra part, SLOWLY, showing each mudra to camera before placing fingers in appropiate place and post it on the site that would be very helpful. I know the younger ones in our group would benifiet from it greatly. Purchaseing a DVD of this would be well worth the cash in my eyes. Chris Kirner <chriskirner1956 wrote: Hi Vish,I don't wish to be contrary, but what makes you think another can'tbenefit from this practice as you describe it here? This has not beenmy experience at all. I have learned and benefited from many things Ireceived in written form. True, there is often a period of refinement, until the practice is integrated, but my experience suggests the mostimportant thing is faith in and devotion toward God and Guru. My belief is (right or wrong) that if the connection to the Guru isstrong s/he will visit on a subtle level and establish the practice ifit is right for you.None of this discounts the fact that hearing from the mouth of theGuru is by far and away the best way to receive any practice.Jai Maa!ChrisJai Maa!Chris , "inspectionconnection108"<inspectionconnection108 wrote:>> Namaste Sal, in this technique, we focus on the chakras as stated.> Base of spine, belly button area, solar plexis area, heart, throat,> and crown of head. Guest guest
Namaste, this has raised another question. Is the Bhuta Shuddhi outlined in Cosmic Puja the full or the simplified version. Because it is my understanding that all 50 letters of the sanskrit alphabet make up the letters of the 6 chakras from muladhara to Ajna, and the Saharara is but a repeated sequence of the 50 letters X 20 = 1000, or 1008 in some traditions corresponding to the spokes of the chakra wheel or alternately conceived of as petals of the lotus of each chakra. Do we also intone the petal bijas for muldara: Shham Sham Sam Vung....and then Lung? For instance? What does Swamiji say about this practice. I know certain masters didn't want their diciples working with this, because of the tendency to awaken the 8 great Siddhis. What does Swamiji, Maa, Devi Mandir say of this practice of intoning the petal bijams? Guest guest
Namaste Eric, Further in the Cosmic Puja we establish all the letter in the body in two different ways: Once by placing them in specific parts of the body and then as petals around the respective chakras. It's really nice! So first you light up the chakras with the bhuta shuddhi and then you surround them with their letters. Swamiji has said that when the letters are established in the body, then our learning of Sanskrit is intensified (Woo hoo! Jai Maa!) Swamiji demostrated once on tour how, when the establishment is done with intense one-pointedness, the energy is actually palpable! It's a simple yet very powerful technique and it's open for one and all Jaaaaaaaaaaaai Maa! Jaaaaaaaaaaaaai Swamiji! , Eric Cassils <Quanchula1 wrote: > > Namaste, > > this has raised another question. Is the Bhuta Shuddhi > outlined in Cosmic Puja the full or the simplified > version.
