Guest guest
Namaste: Once Swami told me that using " imagination " is a very powerful tool to increase the strength of one's intention or purpose, during puja, or in activity. For example, sometimes when I perform puja, I do not have fresh flowers, or a nice piece of fruit. I imagine the most beautiful flower, or the perfect peach, and offer that. The pure intention fills me with delight that I can " offer " something great to God. The focused energy of that intention is offered. Or, when I am chanting the " shanti " mantra at the beginning of the puja, I imagine the entire world being surrounded completely by " peace " . I " see " peace enveloping the world, and penetrating all levels of existence. In daily activity, if I am speaking with someone on the phone, and they are having some issue, I " imagine " pure love and peace surrounding and comforting them. This technique has profound applications in our personal and universal existence. One can imagine huge changes in this world, while sitting in front of one's altar, chanting God's name, sending peace throughout the universe. Please share your application and experiences with this process. Image: life is bliss, I am One with God. Guest guest
Namaste Vish:I was once saying the 108 names of Ganesha, and since I often do not have fresh flowers, I imagined in detail a different flower each time I said the name. It was very powerful, and during this it seemed like "someone" was to my right accepting them. I am not sure if I created this with my imagination, but nonetheless I found tremendous peace in this action. Thanks for the post.Peace,Shankariinspectionconnection108 <inspectionconnection108 wrote: Namaste: Once Swami told me that using "imagination" is a very powerful tool to increase the strength of one's intention or purpose, during puja, or in activity. Guest guest
Namaste Vish, I, too, use a lot of imagination when doing my Shiva puja as I still do not have quite everything I need (i.e., sandal paste, red powder). I find my imagination inspires me and actually helps me to stay very focused. I love it when I am imagining flowers, as I can then imagine the most beautiful, glorious flowers imaginable! Another way I am now using my imagination is with Maa's newest sankalpa (from the new book). I imagine that Shree Maa is standing next to me all day -- you can imagine how imagining she is in the room with me all the time has helped to change my attitude... especially in the more challenging moments of the day. And delightfully, it has created a burst of energy to cleaning out the closets and drawers and simplifying everything around me. And the freedom I feel from that is NOT imagined!! Jai Maa!
