Guest guest
Hi Y'all! Just a friendly reminder that the monthly Chandi Sankalpa time is almost upon us once again. Monday is Amavasya, so the new month (and the first day of the sankalpa) begins on Tuesday. If anyone doesn't know what on earth I'm talking about, and might like to know more, just ask and someone will answer. Happy chanting! Jai Maa! Guest guest
Hi Marsha, This past April Swamiji established a group sankalpa to chant the Chandi Path every month. The text is broken into nine parts so that over the course of the first nine days of the month all of the Chandi is chanted. It's especially great for those of us who are still getting familiar with the Chandi and who aren't very good at chanting yet (the first two days are the longest). The sankalpa begins on the first day of the month in the Vedic calendar. That would be the day following the New Moon (you should get the exact date from the Devi Mandir's panchanga [Vedic calendar], since other sources are often off a day). You can download a copy from the Devi Mandir website (if you can't find it ask here). This months' has already started I'm afraid, though if you're really ready to jump in, I'm sure it won't be a big deal for you to be a day behind the rest of us. If you decide to do it, post your intentions so someone can let Swamiji know you're participating. Here's the link to the original post. It has the schedule in it. I suggest you print it out and keep it with your copy of the Chandi. /message/22959 If you have any questions about the sankalpa or the Chandi, post and someone will help you. To those of you who are still with me in this, don't forget to post about your thoughts or experiences if you have anything you'd like to share. Posting about the sankalpa keeps the energy up!
