Guest guest
Hi, I purchased Chandi path book and cd's, I want to start reciting it. But before I do that, it would be great if you could help me to answer some questions. 1) As I understand Devi Mahatmyam (Chandi path) is 700 verses. But book includes much more than 13 chapters, like The Armor of the Goddess, The system of Worship of the Nine Lettered Mantra and etc. Is this also part of Devi Mahatmyam or its taken from other sources which is used in combination with 13 chapters. 2) Which verses should be used before and after reciting chapters and their purpose. Lets say today I recite chapter 1, should I recite something before and after it. 3) Since I am beginner should I not recite verses with pranayama (inhale Navarna mantra and on exhalation chant verses) or it would be good to start with that immediately. Thank you. Alex.
Guest guest
Namaste Alex: Part of it is a sort of a puja and some traditional introductory prayers. At the end are some finalizing prayers. We have a a Chandi Sankalpa group. We chant the entire Chandi Path over a period of nine days. Maybe someone can get you the list of when to chant what. You might want to get Swami's suggestions as to what preparations you need to do prior to beginning the Chandi Path.
