Guest guest Posted November 10, 2007 Report Share Posted November 10, 2007 Namaste: Tonight we celebrated Divali, The Festival of Lights, and the start of the New Year with Maa and Swami at the homa in the Temple. We chanted the 1000 names of Lakshmi. It was beautiful. Swami explained that Divali means that our inner darkness is gone, and in its place is the Divine Light of Pure Consciousness. Also, this day is remembered as the day that Ram returned to Ayodhya. Ayodhya means that place of balance and harmony, and Ram returning victorious from the battle with the Ego, signifies the return of balance and harmony in the inner and outer universe.
