Guest guest
Namaste: I cannot remember the number of times Maa has said to me: " Vishweshwar, the ego is so tricky. You have to be so careful. The ego will constantly trick you. He is so subtle. Be careful. " Dear Reader, I recall the number of times I did something I realized was not productive, but did it anyway. The ego tricked me. Think of the number of times I said something which was hurtful, even when I knew I should keep my mouth shut. The ego tricked me. Life requires such discipline and discrimination. Every thought and desire which arise can lead us into suffering and attachment, or, if we discriminate, can lead us to the Light. Swami often says: " Learn to take a long pause before reacting to an impulse, don't just react. In that pause, consider the outcome of your action, and if it does not lead you towards your goal, then stop. Don't be impulsive. " We have so many times during the day when we can perform action which will move us forward or backward. All we have to do is: " pause and think " , before acting. Simple, profound, so important.
