Guest guest
Namaste Gyandesh: Your answer really touches my heart, and I agree with your response. It brings to mind an experience I have had many times with Her. Either working at the Mandir performing seva, or at home, I will have a feeling to perform a certain task, or to call Maa to discuss some issue. Each time Maa would indicate in some way that it was She who planted the thought to perform the task or to call Her. I believe She is constantly broadcasting, " heart to heart " , to Her devotees. It is we who are not " tuned into " the right channel / frequency, and therefore, we do not " hear " Her. It is up to us to meditate, chant, perform homa, etc., in order that we become refined enough to be able to " pick up, and tune into " , and receive Her broadcast. Can others share thoughts on this concept of communion with Maa? How it works, how to improve it, and give some examples? I believe it is best to express our love to Maa by our actions (i.e. working for God). We must also pray to recieve Maa's grace so that we can perform the right actions with love and truth. Thus, with my very little knowledge I can't determine if any of the two are greater, I would say both must co-exist in equilibrium. > > Jaye Kali Maa. > Gyandesh. > > > inspectionconnection108 <inspectionconnection108 wrote: > Namaste all: Swami has asked we post this question from him > > Which is greater, praying to God or working for God? > > Jai Ma Jai wami > > vishweshwar > Get easy, one-click access to your favorites. Guest guest
I concur with Gyandesh as well. I had been thinking about the question since I read it and drew the same conclusion. Prayer is perhaps superior because it is our way of finding out what is required of us. Work done without God's purpose is worth as much. I always believed in sincere work, and thought it was enough-since work is prayer! But I realised that even the most sincere work done may be wasted if God's grace is missing. Prayers lead one to God's Blog. And rejoice if you find Swamiji and Shree Maa! For they will take your hand and invite you into God's sitting room for a quiet heart to heart coversation. Was it Einstein who said of Gandhi " generations to come will find it difficult to believe that a man such as this walked on earth " This is true of Swamiji and Shree Maa -hard to believe they are here on earth among us. , " inspectionconnection108 " <inspectionconnection108 wrote: > > Namaste Gyandesh: Your answer really touches my heart, and I agree > with your response. > It brings to mind an experience I have had many times with Her. > Either working at the Mandir performing seva, or at home, I will have > a feeling to perform a certain task, or to call Maa to discuss some > issue.
