Dear All,My name is Pravin and i have been a silent enjoyer of this amazing e-satsanga, i agree with others that this is virtually been my support since i started my life in the UK three years ago where there are not much oppurtunity for any kind of satsanga. This is the most spiritually active and vibrant forum i have ever seen filled with with the blessings of the divine, i just finished my devi pooja for the day and thought i can put a matter in front the group members for advice. I would greatly appreciate any help...One of my uncles have a mother(quite old- around 75) who constantly gossips and creates problems with in the family and sometimes enacts some dramatic stuff which confuse and destrys the peace in their home by her lies and tactics. I have been of the strong opinion that as a

family they should support and kindly help her to remain sane and be patient with her inspite of her faults, but her son--my uncle runs away as soon as he sees her due to the fact that he cant stand her.. basically there is a love hate tug of war between them. The issue is that my uncle and others does not have peace of mind and is not convinced about what i told him, please suggest any other alternate approaches to handle this matter.. many thanks in advance..Love ... Pravin VijayOnly think of those things that can be disclosed the moment you are asked to disclose them.

Namaste Vish,

first of all I'd like to say that this group has been very important

to me right from the beginning. Through this satsangha I have learned

so many things. Apart from the techniques of how to do puja, one of

the most wonderful things I have learned is that there is a place

where people are actually kind, helpful, and devoted to the Highest

Ideal without preaching to you or talking down to you. Where it is

possible to be honest and express your feelings without fear of

ridicule. Inspired by Shree Maa and Swamiji, and supported by them,

this group forms a safe haven for all seekers. So I thank our Gurus

and all Devi Mandir Family members for this opportunity to come here

and learn. So why is it sometimes difficult to share more?

-I think I don't have time

-I think I don't have anything worthwhile to say about a topic

-I think I bore people

-I think since I haven't done my sadhana I have no right to post

-I think since I can't watch the classes live I don't know which q/a

have already been dealt with and I have missed all the action

etc. etc. etc.

So the first thing to overcome is thoughts like these, which perhaps I

am not the only one to entertain. Perhaps we can all take a moment to

gather these thoughs and throw them in a collective bin:)

Dear Vish, you own faithful contributions have inspired me and helped

me a lot and you have raised many important topics. Also the quotes

posted daily by devotees always offer more than enough material for

discussion. I fear there has been a lot of taking and not a lot of

giving in that regard, and I am sorry for my own shortcomings in this

respect. Perhaps more important than finding important topics or

thinking about clear communication is that we all look into our hearts

and see what beautiful things we have to offer.

Swamiji has said that the best way to strengthen the fence around our

tender tree of devotion is to hold on tight to the feet of the Guru

and to share in satsangha. I have found that the moment I do the

first, the desire to do the second comes. So I am holding on tight,

with love,

Namaste Dear Henny,

So glad you post when you do because you always bring up such important issues. Any time you want to discuse class or have questions just let it be known. There are so many of us here that there will always be someone to answer you.

Yes I have had same issues about posting also as I'm sure we all have. When I first started viewing the posts I was like a silient ghost just reading and feeling like I just didn't know enough to post. (I'd look like I didn't know anything) and I didn't (ego)

Then when I did write I was so hungry for a good spiritual conversation that I generaly suffered from dhiaria of the mouth. But like you have found everone here is very kind and understanding mainly because we are all going through the same issues.

The hardest thing for me was admiting that I didn't know it all and cldn't help everyone. Once I understood that I begain to let go and just be. Then everyone showed their love and understanding. They cldn't help me without knowing where I was so just dived in.

Thanks for stating that you can't view classes live. That does help everyone to understand.

Send you questions in and don't worry if they have already been asked.

If they have been you will probly get a note simply stating that that one was answered last night so when it's posted you can view it and re ask question if it doesn't meet your needs.

Swami is so good to help us in every way he can.

Maa keeps us bathed in love so all will be well.

Love and Light,

Devi

Namaste Vishweshwar:

Why do I not post those little questions that I have occasionally?

Asking questions does not get me into a "minus" here, and without

a question, how can there be an answer?

Sometimes the questions are a little bit funny, such as:

Is it normal that a new rudraksha mala leaves stains on

thumb and finger? Can one treat the mala in some way, perhaps with a

solution,

or should one rather send it back?

Concerning the question about the topics that are important, there seem to

be alternative ways of becoming free from the cycle of births and

deaths apart

from becoming realized, that would perhaps be an interesting topic.

Another reoccuring issue: How is that with the "domains" of the deities ?

For example, Ganesha has become increasingly popular in the last decades,

people now pray to him for all sorts of things.

Namaste,

In following this thread, i definitely identify with many of the i

don'ts. This might just be another excuse or way of approaching the

i don'ts but for me the problem is cultural and upbringing. Many

times i see a post and draft a response then that ego/self-depracatio n

sites some situation when trying to help or making a suggestion and

there it goes .... no one will read this, this will be misunderstood,

that does not make sense and the draft is kept or deleted.

This forum is so very important in my life, I really wonder how i

existed before it came about. I join

Henny in placing these thought in the collection bin for Swamiji to

offer in the fire J.

Dear SwamiJi and Group, Namaste

Please, excuse me my little knowledge. If i am correct Indra is

related to the mind. Sky may represent our mind. Perhaps the same

mantra may be used to cure our own mind. Please, how can we

control/minimize/ eliminate our inner Vrittis with the help of

Indra? Could you indicate some sadhana to this?

calling upon

Indra, the god of rain, to bring relief to the dry period we are

experiencing at the Devi Mandir, as well as to all other places

in the

world suffering from drought.

Here's a story that Swamiji tells about Indra.

Unfortunately, in the ocean of objects and relationships there is

a lot

of egotistical attachment. When the Sun rises with its luminous

rays,

the Light of Wisdom and the Warmth of Devotion cause many of the

waters

of attachment to evaporate. As the vapors rise into the sky, they

form

a cloud known as Vritra, an asura whose predominant qualities are

the

attachments derived from change and modification.

As Vritra gets bigger and blacker, he obscures the light of the

Sun.

Then all the devotees call upon Indra, and when Indra is pleased

with

the intensity of devotion, he smites the mighty Vritra with his

thunderbolt of illumination. The cloud parts, the rains fall,

egotism

is dispelled, attachment is forsaken, the earth is nourished, the

devotees are energized, and the Sun, the Light of Wisdom, begins

to

shine again.

Let's all call upon Indra: Om Lam Indraya namah (or Swaha), and

make

our rivers swell, nourish our crops, feed the devotees, and

gather

strength so we can pursue even greater forms of sadhana.

We are all invited to participate by making 108 japas or a homa

to

Indra, each day, until sufficient rain comes.

With Love,

Kumari

Namaste Kumari,

That should not be a commitment that is difficult to keep,

meaning the japa, not the homa.

But please let us know in case there has already been

sufficient rain...or do not complain!

Peace Sankalpa

Dear family/friends,

I was saving this post for another three days, when I would have

completed the Peace Sankalpa given to us by Beloved Shree Maa but since

reading the Virtual Satsunga post, I decided not to wait as every day is

new creation.

At the start, this sankalpa quota seem unattainable as the mantra was

new and difficult in its pronounciation but as time went on, it got

easier and felt comfortable. Then tardiness set in and after awhile,

the mantra was repeated without any count. A post appeared a few months

after by one of the family, reminding us about the promise, this was, to

my mind, a wake up call from Mother so once more I commenced japa.

Fall Navaratri came and i wanted to be with then family but was unable

to do so due to the 8-5, i felt so down and out and one of the many

nights which i sat before my altar just gazing at the Gods and Goddesses

with tears streaming down my face, my eyes fell on a focus of Swamiji.,

Words immediately began to formulate in my mind to write to Swamiji but

in the next moment, something said, sing praises to Hanuman, He is

Swamiji, pure devotion. Needless to say i started that night singing

the Hanuman Chalisa and the Bajranga bana. One of the verses that

always stands out in the mind comes from the Bajranga bana "Do not

delay now, Oh Master of All Causes. Be merciful to me, Oh My Innermost

Self." It brings much peace and quietude to the mind and

surroundings.

Thank You Beloved Shree Maa and Swamiji for this opportunity, the tools,

the inspiration, the guidance, the everything..

..

The importance of Sadhana

The foremost objective in human life is to attain Godliness, which is

liberation. Liberation is the cessation of all pain, all bonds and

every type of deficiency. In order to obtain liberation, it is

imperative to perform sadhana. Shree Maa

Namaste,

Swamiji has been so very kind in guiding and answering my spiritual

questions. I am very grateful to him for his patience and kindness.

I just joined the group, so I will post my questions here to

share them with everyone.

In relation to the Kali Puja, in the Kali Yantra worship section:

What are the mantras to worship Indra, the deities of the Bhupuras,

of the Eight Petals, of the Nine Corners, and the Hexagon corners ?

There is a format to follow with the names of the deities with

prefixes and suffixes to their names. Does anyone what they are ?

Just for reference, here are the deity names:

Bhupuras: Bhairavi, Mahabhairavi; Simhabhairavi, Dhumrabhairavi,

Bhimabhairavi, Unmattabhairavi; Vashikaranabhairavi ,

Mohanabhairavi.

Eight Petals: Brahmi, Narayani, Maheshvari, Chamunda, Kaumari,

Aparajita, Varahi, Narasimhi.

Nine Corners: Ugra, Ugraprabha, Dipta, Nila, Ghana, Balakika, Matra,

Mudra, Mitra.

Hexagon corners: Kali, Kapalini, Kulla, Kurukulla, Virodhini, Vipra

Citta.

Best Regards,

Charles

Dear Pravin,

a warm welcome to you! About the matter you discussed: I have no

direct advice to offer, but perhaps you could consider joining Prayer

Club and put your uncle and his mother on the list of recipients (and

anyone else in need of help). We join in prayer every week, reciting

the Mahamrtyunjaya Mantra at least 21 times, asking Lord Shiva to undo

the ties of ignorance that bind us. If you like, you could write to

_prayer_club.

hope this helps a little,

with love,

henny

since i started my life in the UK three years ago where there are not

much oppurtunity for any kind of satsanga. This is the most

spiritually active and vibrant forum i have ever seen filled with with

the blessings of the divine, i just finished my devi pooja for the day

and thought i can put a matter in front the group members for advice.

I would greatly appreciate any help...

family they should support and kindly help her to remain sane and be

patient with her inspite of her faults, but her son--my uncle runs

basically there is a love hate tug of war between them. The issue is

that my uncle and others does not have peace of mind and is not

approaches to handle this matter.. many thanks in advance..
