Guest guest
namaste, I have a question on phal sruthi or benefit of reading a sacred text, chanting a mantra or prayer. When the phala sruti states " reading this text or chanting mantra will remove all afflictions and give eternal happiness " does it mean it removes our karma-present and past? Why people continue to suffer even after doing and continuing their sadhana. For example , say if vishnu sahasranamam/laliths sahasranamam/chandi path will give benefits to a sadhaka engaged in them , will that person accumulate the merits in next birth or will he reap those in his present birth?if it is present birth, then why sufferings don't cease ? I would appreciate if swamiji or MAA can throw some light on this. This would be very helpful in my quest . Thanks JAI MAA Amrish
Guest guest
I also look foreward for Swamiji and Shree Maa's answer. It states in the Chandi that reading it with FULL concentration. There is a difference of reading a text or really use full concentration. In the alter it takes our mind away from the difficulties and challenges of our lives and fills us up with Divine Nectar. This process helps us to detach ourselves from the material world and all our attachments. It is really the attachments and desires who cause our suffering. If we focus on the divine Nectar we can detach our self and less pain and suffering is experienced. I like to compare it with a hot air balloon. The attachments and desires are all the bags of sand and cords attached to the ballon so it will not fly away and stays in Maya, pain and suffering. Reading the texts with full concentration and devotion will cut this strings and empty the bags of sands so the balloon can raise up and become free. The higher we can fly the more wisdom will come in and less ignorance. More Peace and contentment and less fear and darkness.
