Namaste Linda: if you wish, we can add your name to the Devi Mandir

prayer list. We have missed you, glad you are back. Have a Chrishmas

full of Divine Love.

Tune into class, we are discussing Ramakrishna. It begins 6:15 PM

pacific time Monday-Friday. There is so much bliss and pure devotion.

Dear Linda: I felt a reaction in my body when I read your post. I

had an injury a while back that caused me to be in a lot of pain for

about six months (and residual pain for many months after). It was

absolutely incredible to be trapped in pain like that, with no way

out. Divine Mother can and does certainly use that tool (pain and

illness) to teach some powerful lessons of Presence, Acceptance,

Surrender, and Realization of what is Really Important.

I remember that I had searing, shooting pain from my hip and down my

leg that was so bad I could not be conscious for it. In other words,

I was aware of choosing to not be aware of it (I called it, 'bouncing

my mind off the pain'). I'd get angry, and check out. I prayed

about this, and felt that Divine Mother told me 'don't bounce your

mind off the pain. Think of it as going for a ride. Follow it with

love and curiosity, it has something to teach you.' Yeah, right! I

thought. But I followed Her advice, and the pain did teach me. That

was my practice, at the time. Feel The Pain. Listen to my body.

Offer the awareness of the pain to Mother.

Whatever we can be truly Present for within ourselves, we can be

Present for in others. Whatever we can hold in awareness, love and

curiosity, we can offer to Mother. What else is there? This is one

of many things I learned through pain. I didn't like the lessons and

never would have chosen them, but they were the right lessons for me

to have, as are all of Divine Mother's lessons.

I agree with you, and I appreciate your wording - that devotion to

the body (which is, after all, Her Amazing Creation) especially when

it is broadcasting pain and illness, connects the heart to Infinite

Spirit. Thank you for that.

Thank you so much for sharing about your journey through illness and

pain, and may you always feel yourself to be held in Divine Mother's

remembrance.
