Guest guest
Namaste Dear Family: I thought you may enjoy re-reading an older message from Swami about mantras for the Gods / Goddesses. I also included a post which contains the mantras, and their meanings, of the major Gods and Goddesses. I think this will help you understand the range of possible mantras to use. Let me know if this helps. Swamiji says: There is only One God. Some times we call Him Creator, Protector, Transformer; He has many names, indicating the many functions He performs. Some times we call Him Her. She also has many names. So every name of God we call upon, is a name of the same God. Therefore, there is no higher God or lesser God. There is no obligation to one form of divinity or to another form. The reason we cultivate a special relationship with one form or another, is to create greater intimacy in that union. There is no question of jealousy among the Gods. ______________________________\ ___ Vishweshwar says: Namaste all family: we have posted the mantras of some of the Gods and Goddesses, and a brief description of their blessings and their Grace. After the mantras, there is a brief summary. Typically one repeats the mantras using a mala, or, string of 108 beads. _________ _________ _________ _________ ___ Durga's mantra: Om Hrim Srim Dum Durgayai Namah I bow to the Goddess Durga, the Grantor of Increase, who Removes all Difficulties and allows us to perceive the Infinity of Her Energy. Purify ! I am One with God Mind is like a monkey. Hanuman is the divine monkey, ever devoted, ever performing loving service, so full of love and faith that nothing remains difficult for him. His name has become a symbol of pure devotion. Chanting His mantra, one becomes filled with devotion and the joy of pure, unselfish service. May He bless us all with the majesty of devotion. ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _____ Goddess Laksmi's mantra: Om Srim Laksmai Namah Om I Bow to the Goddess Laksmi Laksmi is the Goddess of Wealth, our goals, our values, our aspiration. Laksya means goal - Laksmi manifests the goal, every aim in existance. What our goals are, are what we value: that which we value is our wealth. Laksmi's promise is: " Whoever will pursue their goals with peace, they will find the wealth " . ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ ______ Goddess Sarasvati's mantra: Om Sam Sarasvatyai Namah Om I bow to the Goddess Sarasvati Sarasvati is the embodiment of one's own ocean of experience. All the names which correspond to all the forms, all the knowledge of individual experience, make Sarasvati one of the most important Goddess of existence. Sarasvati presides over Music, Art, Philosophy and Literature. She is the Goddess worshiped by all students who long for progress in their studies. Please let me know if any of you have questions. It is best to establish a regular time for chanting mantras and performing worship, in a quiet place. Regular practice brings the best results. But, one can chant a mantra anytime, anyplace. Developing a relationship with God, in whatever form you are comfortable with, begins the moment you begin to chant their name. As you develop a relationship with a particular God / Goddess, and He / She calls to you more than another, then you can learn to perform puja to deepen your relationship. Each Deity has a entire text devoted to their worship. All texts have been translated by Maa and Swami and are available thru the Devi Mandir website, www.shreemaa. org Jai Maa Jai Swami vishweshwar
Guest guest
Namaste !Wishing you and your dear ones a Very Happy,Prosperous and Blissful New Year! "Loka Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu"Sivakumar**********************Enough I have strived to reach for the stars, I have fought with the heavens and revelled in wars, I have proudly confronted the sun king himself And defiantly flouted his will and his laws. But now is the time to bow my head down To turn my eyes inwards and take off my crown; My hairs have turned grey and lined my brow, Though my strength is still with me I'm more cautious now. For I've reached the tip of life's golden hill, I see down in the valley not rivers and fields But death; and I'm humbled and look to my past With regret at its waste, for there's nothing to last. Yet around me like spirits I sense in the earth Intuitions, a whisper, a hint of rebirth And somehow I feel that they speak of my soul Which deep, deep inside me wants to unfold. From now on my steps must be careful and sure For they lead to the centre, the meaning, the core; Impulsive acts and wilful deeds Do not bring a man closer to the vital seed; The fabulous city can't be captured by force But by diving deep to the inner source.- Swami K Saraswathiinspectionconnection108 <inspectionconnection108 wrote: Namaste Dear Family: I thought you may enjoy re-reading an older message from Swami about mantras for the Gods / Goddesses. Guest guest
Namaste Vish, Thank you for reposting this summary. It is inspiring to review the harmonies of existence that each Devi represents and increases, and helpful to remember that if we follow our nature and develop intimate relationships with the Gods or Goddesses that resonate for us our progress will be swift and positive. Jai Maa and Happy New Year.
