Guest guest
Namaste Advanced new year greetings to all. The other day i was reading a article when i came across the 4 stages of man's journey- infancy, youth, family life and old age. These are referred to as Balya, kaumarya, grihasta and vanaraprastha. Specifically, after fulfilling all obligations, a person returns to woods or a place to contemplate on divine and for spiritual upliftment. This makes me confused. Does this mean we have to start thinking of divine and do our spiritual activities only at late stage(vanaraprastha)? Does this mean we enjoy and luxuriate in our material comforts and start turning towards god at a later age? Will a person still be able to get moksha if he does that ? what about his actions(bad deeds) during youth and family life? And what about persons who die early? say soomeone had life span of only 35 years. How will he go through the 4 stage?by time he gets married and have child, death takes him away. SO what is the hope for him? does this mean this birth has been futile since he had so manyy responsibilities and at 35 when he died, did not get to turn towards devotion and hence lost out? I hope some other friends can answer this. I am eagerly waiting for Swamiji to answer this. JAI MAA Amrish
