Guest guest
Namaste Amrish and all: Great question. Ask Mother to erase your confusion by performing sadhana now. Start your sadhana today. Do not wait one minute. Why would we wait? Just think about a simple discipline we all perform daily: brushing our teeth. Now, if we did not brush them daily, and ate sweets often, what would happen? Our teeth would decay and we would be in pain, and have to suffer. Just so, if we do not perfrom sadhana now, and wait until we grow old, we will not have the discipline and momentium, and performing sadhana will be difficult. And, if difficulties arise, we will not be strong enough, not connected to God enough, to weather the storms. We will be overshadowed. Whatever stage of life we are in, performing sadhana is important and valuable and will bring us God's Grace. As Swami explains: one has to perform sadhana in order to gain Grace. One needs Grace in order to succeed in each stage of life. For example, I am 53 years old, father, grandfather, and disciple to Maa and Swami. I want to be the best student when I am young, and every day, the best husband and provider, and the best devotee during all stages of my life. And, when I have completed my worldly obligations, and turn away from the world to comtemplate God and serve my Guru full time, I want to perform seva and be an instrument of Divine Will in every action, 24 hours a day. In order to give my best in every stage of life, and to be prepared for whatever God brings to me, I have to perform sadhana every day. I have to align myself with Maa and Swami and God. The spiritual practices they have taught me bring me into alignment with them, and then they can begin to fill me with their spirit and use me to perform actions to benefit this world. Each of us needs to take the time to commune with God daily, for the rewards are out of this world. Great posting and great answer , as usual by Shri Visveshwar, on behalf Pujya Shree Maa and Shir Swamiji. I would hasten to add my own halfpenny worth, in reiterating the global appeal and the cause celebre issued by Shree Maa. Our lives are usually dictated by series of happenings, mishaps and more often than not, unplanned for activities, which usurp valuable time frames. Just as the larvae turns into pupa to moth to a beautiful butterfly which flutters away in total freedom, we tend to lose track of our limitations, and time constraints. It is never too late to start anything anew. Prahalad was so devoted at a such young tender age that Naryana came to him, in rescued against the cruel Hiranya Kashibu. So there is really no such clear cut demarcations that could cause us to limit the search and sadhana. Thease four stages of our lives were decreed as part of the Karma Yoga factors, where one has to perform certain specific " duties " including gathering knowledge, wealth, family and then slowly release these bondages to avoid dramatic or sudden swings, which no ordinary human can perform without too much stress. In these days of excessive demands on time and efforts, the demands for perfection always pose far too mcuh pressures. Thus when we start early, we get used to certain aspects of sadhana, and acute practice syndromes, which tone our ideas and shape our thoughts, thereby enabling us to transition smoothly. Hnece there is a saying= " subhasya shreekaram " what is worth doing, is worth doing well and SOON. Happy NEW YEAR greetings go out all our Devi Mandir Parivar and humble namastes to Shree Maa and Swamiji. Be Well, Be Smiling and Be Safe.
