Guest guest
Namaste Brindavanshakti, Kalachandra, Vish, Amrish, Henny, Jennifer, Papia, Usha, Prathiba, Kali, Gbaba and Nanda and Everybody, Thanks for your interest in studying Chandi together. Everybody is welcome to join in our discussion and journey! Nanda - thanks for the vocabulary list! Thanks Vish, Nanda, Henny and Gbaba for a very thoughtful discussion on the kavach. My understanding is that the kavach is an armour - something that we " put on " or feel within as we chant the mantras. We feel Divine Mother's protection. Maa once asked me if I was chanting the kavach. I stood silently. She said, " You don't have to chant it only when you do Chandi. You can chant just the kavach - sometimes. " After reading, Vish's question - i was wondering -- Why do we chant the kavach? Is it an insurance policy? Does complete faith mean Total Protection? What is total protection? As we chant verses 1 to 22 this week, please can you think about these and share your thoughts? Also any other questions/issues to help us get a deeper understanding. Thank You! Jai Maa! ramya
Guest guest
Dear Ramya, Thank you so much for this sankalpa and the discussion on the kavacha. I wanted to thank everyone for their insight. Each of you has prompted me to look at the kavacha from a new perspective. The only thing I would like to add is - " What is it that we want to be protected from? " Is it the same for each of us or different?
