Guest guest
Namaste all: Gbaba noted that everything is consciousness and thus suggested that putting on the kavach, chanting the mantras, is unnecessary. That is an idea to explore. In my experience, if Maa and Swami suggest we chant some mantras, they feel there will be great benefit in doing so. Therefore it would not be sufficient for us to just " think " that we are pure consciousness, and, therefore automatically be protected. There must be a " real " effect which results from chanting those specific mantras. As Ramya asks: is it an insurance policy? Or is it a test of our faith in our Guru that we chant the Kavach? Nanda suggests Maa is already there, but we just have to become more aware of Her. We open ourselves to Her. All great thoughts. I have performed Shiva puja daily for 10 years, and have chanted Shiva kavach daily for several years. As a result, I feel that I have become closer to realizing that Eternal Truth, that I AM SHIVA, the " consciousness of infinite goodness, but, I still have a relative body which needs help and protection. As I move through this world, the forces of duality have some effect on this body. Thus, I need the protection of these mantras in and on my body. I will continue to ponder these notions.
