Guest guest
Hello to All, Well, it is the first time I am addressing to this group. For that matter I am writing for the first time to any group . Nearly five years ago, I was initiated in to reciting the Chandi by a friend of mine. During our discussions, he pulled out the Chandi Path book from his drawer and asked me to recite it. It appeared all latin to me, but I was quite impressed with the prologue. Swami ji quite matter of factly explained all the trials and tribulations experienced by all of us. I took the book home and tried to go through it. Although being a Indian and versed with Indian ways of performing religous rituals, it was difficult. Slowly , reading word by word , breaking complex words into smaller ones , I was doing IT. Now it is five years . It has become a part of me or rather I have become a part of her . She has been kind . Often, I have argued with my friend to tell me more about how does the Chandi works. In India and elsewhere too, it is understood that Devi devotees experience and can perform magical feets. The recitations leads you to acquire special powers. In reply, my friend has always warned me stay away from all this. He maintains that I should just recite the verses. Do not apply your mind to it as it is beyond that. He warns about the traps that are frequent in this path and aiming to acquire these special powers is one of them . So, I continue to recite without much thought to the hidden meanings. I hope the real meaning will dawn some day. A long journy lies ahead. Some small steps have been taken . I hope she will be kind enough to shed some light during my life time . Whatever little I achieve, I carry it forward to my next life. And some lifetimes later, be firmly entrenched to complete the entire course. With best wishes and pranam to Swami ji.
