Guest guest
Namaste Everyone! My thoughts on Srini’s questions: What is it that binds the Gods? Supposedly the “ principles “ of the viniyogah are about the purpose of a given recitation. That being the case – what would the purpose be in this case ? Everything in existence is the play of the One – so - what has Mother bound and how did she bind and then how does she unbind again ? In the flow of creation, Chandi tells us that the Gods became bound by thoughts just like humans. So conceivably they could not maintain their work towards the balance between to much and too little in the universe. Just like us they were also given the possibility of perceiving that fact and just like us, they also need the help of the Divine Mother to overcome these thoughts which have overtaken everything. So in this case the purpose would be to obtain protection for the Gods, as well as for us. Maybe the 9 Durgas are the manifestation of the Divine Mother in the 3 planes. Gross world : Inspiration, leads to Sacred Study, Delight of Practice Subtle world: Purifying Austerity leads to Nurturing Divinity, Ever Pure Causal world : Dark Night of Overcoming Egoism, leading to the Great Radiant Light that Grants Perfection. If the 3 worlds are disturbed by the rule of the army of thoughts – the Gods would be bound. What prevents knowledge from being practiced ? Well – the Chandi tells us the whole tale. Partly the play of the Divine Mother has to go on – so there has to be an opposite force. Good and Evil are both forces of Mother. This is the contradiction. Mother Herself bewitches even the great ones – let alone us – with her Maya. It would be wonderful to hear Swamiji’s comments!
