Guest guest
Dear Family, Pranams! In these week let us continue to chant the Devi Kavacham. Verse 45 says, " The human who proceeds with this armor becomes worthy of worship in the three worlds " . Verses 1-8 are introductory Verses 9-15 describe the Goddess in Her many forms Verses 16-42 are a prayer to the Goddess to protect us in different directions and the different parts of our gross, subtle, and causal bodies. Verses 43-56 describe the benefits that accrue from chanting the Kavacham. Please share your thoughts and questions about this beautiful sloka and how it is affecting you. Guest guest
Dear All, The Kavacham has been helping to protect me from the poison of my asuric nature. When I say it in the morning, the light of wisdom of Maa protects me from blurting out judgmental or hurtful words that would normally slip out. I believe that if we continue to recite this kavacham daily we may become immune to the poisonous dross accumulating in our own minds, innoculate the disease of egoic separation, and thus Maa may sever our dualistic delusions that we can discern the compassion that is Her shroud of wisdom. That is what I understood of the benefits. Is there a literal meaning implied as well, that if we recite for a few lifetimes, we shall become like Trailanga Baba and be able to consume a few liters of molten arsenic as through it were wholesome nectar? That was intended to be a joke Pranams and Many thanks for this teaching on the Kavacham! --- srini_sadhu <srini_sadhu wrote: > Dear Family, > > Pranams! > > In these week let us continue to chant the Devi > Kavacham. > > Verse 45 says, " The human who proceeds with this > armor becomes worthy > of worship in the three worlds " . > > Verses 1-8 are introductory > Verses 9-15 describe the Goddess in Her many forms > Verses 16-42 are a prayer to the Goddess to protect > us in different > directions and the different parts of our gross, > subtle, and causal > bodies. > Verses 43-56 describe the benefits that accrue from > chanting the Kavacham. > > Please share your thoughts and questions about this > beautiful sloka > and how it is affecting you. > > Love > srini > > > > > > ______________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
Namaste Srini, Thanks for making us churn the Kavach ! You had quoted - Verse 45 - "The human who proceeds with this armor becomes worthy of worship in the three worlds" and asked our thoughts on this sloka and how it affects us.For me, it is a reassurance that the more I establish the Kavach, the more I am surrounded by divinity, and the more I will evolve from "an ordinary human" to a divine being. Also, it reminded of another verse from the Chandi Chapter 11 "Tvaama shritaanaam na vipannaraanam Tvaama shritaayaa shrayatam prayanti" " Those who take refuge in you become a source of refuge to others"Jai MAANanda
Guest guest
Namaste Srini thanks for the question on verse 45 of kavach. I feel chanting this kavach makes us get the divine protection which pervades all the cosmos and world. The supreme consiousness surrounds us and protects us in all walks of life. And since shakti is source of support for even the trimurtis, acts committed knowingly or unknowingly agsint demi gods can also be obliterated. I can't help but keep referring to gayatri mantra which i feel is gist of kavach(in kavach we elaborate of protection on each body part. In gayatri manta we invoke supreme consiousness to enlighten us and surround us to prevent any negative forces from troubling us).
