Guest guest
namaste group!! I read somewhere that a stotra(devotional hymn) SHOULD ONLY be chanted aloud as opposed to a mantra which can be chanted aloud or silently like in mantra meditation. can somone give insight as to why stotra are stressed to be chanted aloud?I definitely know that gayatri mantra is known to give more benefit by chanting inside mind with concentration than verbally chanting loud. can the same analogy be applied to stotra as well?? I take public transportation to work and use the travel time to chant stotra (silently for obvious reasons ). Even thought i enjoyed this process, i always had the question whether this gives same benefit as chanting loud. I do know anything done with faith is acceptable to Divine but i just would like to know if the same analogy of mantra applies to stotra as well?
