Guest guest
Dear Family, Namaste! In Verse 3 of the Kilakam, Markandeya Muni says to the Goddess that " by chanting this hymn, they attain the perfection of indifference to each and every object of existence. " Can we describe this indifference better? Does it mean that all we will want to do is to chant the Chandi? And so we start working to organize our lives so that we can? What would be one thing we can give up on our schedule so that we can chant the Chandi more? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! with love srini
Guest guest
Namaste Srini Baba,Thank you for brings this up for discussion.Guess my eyes saw it differently, or my mind needed to hear it another way because when I read." Those who pray by means of this, Oh Goddess, by means of the mantras of this hymn. they attain the perfection of indifference to each and every object of existence."My heart felt that it would be freed from attachments. And that is good as attachment can create pain. With attachments change is difficult and the Chandi definitely brings change, FOR THE BETTER.Now here is where I might be able to see what you are saying. The next verse states," There is no mantra, no medicine, nor anything else known, by which indifference to all can be attained WITHOUT repeated application. Here it lets you know that it will have to be done over and over. Like with anything humans do. "It is the doom of man to forget"Just like we have to be reminded who we are and that divinity is within all and all things. We have to constantly be reminded not to form attachments to this temporary state. With all that in mind YES !We would look to create more time to do this for sure.On the other hand when I read your guestion, "Does it mean that all we will want to do is to chant the Chandi? It created a fear that I was being programed by reading this to do it. Then the head(ego) said "NO" you can't make me to anything. Don't think she would seek to force us or trick us to do anything. She only wants to fill our desires. Hopefully our desires are only to fill Hers. Now when I look back on the last paragraph above it's clear that She is bringing up fears and ego and distroying them. Wow! She works in all we think and do if we will just call to Her. Chandi Maa ki Jai!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1...And do as She directs.Trust is created!Thank you Maa,Thank you Swami,Thank you Srini,Thank you Mandir Family,May She be our Desire & it's fulfilment.May She be our everything!Devisrini_sadhu <srini_sadhu wrote: Dear Family, Namaste! Guest guest
Namaste Srini i agree with Devi's reply. I also feel indifference to all objects means looking everything as divine creation and not getting attached to any object. Bhagavad gita also says Attachment is cause of sadness " . So when we reach that state of equanimity where we do not get elated or depressed , we do not care about the fruits of our actions but do our duty in the right way .
