Namaste to all.Thank you to Sivakumar for bringing up the interesting question on sadhana during eclipse.I checked with Swamiji on if the power of mantras get magnified during an eclipse and He says that "Yes, it is even more powerful" I hope all of us will take advantage of the lunar eclipse this evening and do lots of mantra chanting and sadhanaJai MaaNanda-----------Here is a clip on the times of the eclipse tonight from http://news./s/space/20080220/sc_space/totallunareclipsetonight The moon will enter Earth's umbral

shadow (the full shadow) at 8:43 p.m. ET (that's 7:43 p.m. Central, 6:43 p.m.

Mountain and 5:43 p.m. Pacific) on Wednesday, Feb. 20. It will appear as though

an ever-larger bite is being taken out of the moon.

Some 78

minutes later, the moon will slip into full eclipse. About 51

minutes later, a bright scallop will appear as the moon starts emerging. It

will be completely out of the umbral shadow at 9:09 p.m. Pacific time, which is

12:09 a.m. ET on Thursday morning.

For Europe

and Africa, the eclipse is a predawn Thursday event, with the moon starting

entry to the umbral shadow at 1:43 Greenwich (or Universal) Time.----

I have heard that one must not sleep during the eclipse and must stand and walk around until its over.

i was wanted to ask swami ji whether we can sit down and chant the mantras or perform the homa sitting down rather than walking around or standing in one place?

please reply soon

Thanks so much for the information on when to look for the eclipse from

Europe and Africa. I currently live in Kuwait and never know when

things like eclipses will be viewable from my neck of the woods. Thanks

to your email I was able to figure it out.

Blessings,

Terra

Namaste Ranbir,

Swamiji says " Yes, it is appropriate to sit down and worship. In fact,

it is never inappropriate to conduct worship. "
