Namaste All,

In Verse 3 of the Siddha Kunjika Stotram, we pray to Goddess to grant

perfection of meditation.

Why do we pray for this? Why do we meditate?

Please share your thoughts!

Love

Namaste all: I sit to meditate, or perform puja, or sit at the divine

fire, or perform seva, with the intention to experience a God centered

life, rather than an ego centered one.

I think of meditation as all action performed as an offering to the

Divine. So the perfection of meditation is experiencing the God-ness

behind and throughout all action.

Otherwise, ego based action only provides short term benefits and

leaves me feeling unfulfilled.

I think it is summarized best in the first verse:This is the Key to Perfection: By theses mantras the meditation of the Goddess Chandi becomes easy. THUSBy annihilation of ego, self-conceit and self-deprecation we arise to wakefulness. The Goddess grants us Perfect Meditation by which we are able to preserve entire existence. Once passion and anger are slain then the Boons are offered. Peace is obtained on all levels and our Energy supply comes directly from Bhavani, the female Lord of Being and we become! Full and complete. OneBy these mantras we obtain the drive to do more, to add just one more chapter, to study to consume every word. Mother is GOOD she knows what we need.

And she provides it all.We have but to trust and follow her lead.Jai Maasrini_sadhu <srini_sadhu wrote: Namaste Friends, Thank you for your kind participation on the Chandi Discussion. Svaha! The little self is cast into the fire of knowledge and what

remains is One- " I am the only One here...no other exists beyond Me. "

Namaste all,

thank you for your inspiring comments on the Siddha Kunjika Stotram.

To be quite honest, I have some problems with this one because I don't

understand the meaning of the mantras beginning with dhaam dhim dhum,

and then the 8th mantra with all the sanskrit letter groups, which

according to note 3, have something to do with taking the energy up.

The mind is very busy during recitation trying to figure out what all

this means and how these mantras are supposed to 'work' and why they

are part of this explanation of the navarna mantra. As it does not

succeed, thoughts come saying how it does not make any sense to recite

things one does not understand etc. etc.

Nevertheless, I will go on reciting in the hope that understanding

will come in time, and I am looking forward to Swamiji's class on this

stotram.

with love,

Henny
