Guest guest Posted March 8, 2008 Report Share Posted March 8, 2008 Mantra is written in a chandah, meter. Chandah has a specified number of syllables. The syllables are a formula for breathing. Even more important than the intellectual understanding is to inhale the name of God and exhale the name of God. If we can do that we will come to an intuitive understanding of what the mantra is saying.
