Guest guest
Namaste Ranvir and all: One does not have to perform one's sadhana in contact with the ground on the ground floor of one's home. Shree Maa and Swammi, for example, both perform sadhana in 2nd floors of their dwellings, not in contact with the ground floor. For many years, I have performed sadhand and homas while not in contact with the ground. While in the Temple I built, which was not on the ground, but elevated, Maa and Swami can and performed the first homa and blessed my Temple. Afterwards, I performed homa and sadhana there for the next 2.5 years every day. I have chanted in airplanes and in automobiles. Swami has said he chanted the Chandi while driving a car on a long journey. One does one's sadhana wherever one is, under whatever conditions one finds oneself. It is the intention, to chant to the best of one's ability, and the devotion one brings to one's sadhana which brings God and His / Her blessings and darshan, not the location of the devotee in time or space. We know that there are " ideal " spots for meditation and sadhana, i.e.: great Temples or Holy Mountains-blessed by the countless saints who worshiped there, but, the average devotee cannot go there. So, we worship in our bedrooms, or wherever there is space, and cry for God to help us, and that intention, and our desire to surrender to God's Will, will bring us the blessings we deserve. As Swami says, ... " we thank you Lord for giving us your blessings, and we pray that you increase our capacity to receive more, and to worship You with greater intensity. Swami and Maahave stated that it is important to understand what one is chanting. For example: I meet and fall in love with my Guru. Now, I want toknow what pleases her, what makes her happy, what food she likes, howto serve her, how to worship her. So, once I have this knowledge and understanding, my relationship withHer can grow and expand and deepen. And, as my devotion grows, I willhave more questions, and so it goes. Likewise, if I can understand what that Chandi represents, what thetext means on many different levels, then my relationship with Chandi, and MySelf, can grow and expand and deepen. Devotion and knowledge are 2 sides of the same coin. Both areimportant. At the Devi Mandir, we are blessed to have Swami and Maato directly interpret and explain the many facets of the Chandi. Then, we can sit at the homa and chant with them. We can feel theirbhava and experience their enthusiasm and devotion. My own experience has grown 100% because I now understand what I havebeen chanting for years.Jai Ma Jai Swamivishweshwar--- In , " Sankar Viswanathan " <sankarrukku@> wrote:>> Namashkar.
