Namaste Friends,

Thank you for being kind and sharing your thoughts about japa. It was

very helpful!

Shree Maa once asked a devotee if he was doing japa. He said no. She

said, " do you eat food? " He said yes. She said, " Japa is food for soul " .

This was during a Shiva Ratri maybe 6 years ago.

Like Sivakumar I find it helpful to have image of deity before me and

I do it with Mala. If I don't use a mala I use a timer and do japa for

5 minutes without count and silently. Usually I concentrate better

this way. But right now I use the mala so that I can achieve my daily

totals.

Divine Mother is meditating in the cave of our Heart

A gentle smile on Her face.

As we chant Her mantra continually

Her gaze turns upward and She receives our offerings

May our every action, word, and thought be directed to our Beloved Mother.

May we leave our worldliness and step into into the garden of delight

where Mother resides

May She keep us there eternally.

When we eat food it goes to the stomach

When we chant our mantra may we direct it to our Heart where Mother

resides

Everything we do we do for Her.

Love

srini
