Namaste Nitin and all family: Wonderful question. In my humble

opinion, Maa gives us all our desires. But She leaves it to us to use

our will power and discrimination to focus our energy and attention on

those desires which will take us to the ultimate goal: Union with Her.

Reading the Chandi, the Rishi tells us that we need to balance Too

Much and Too Little, and eliminate all the " extra " things which bind

us and prevent us from keeping our minds focused on Her.

So what do we have to do? We have to create a plan to reach the goal.

By focusing our mind and heart on the desire for moksha, and

performing the most sattwic actions: i.e.: meditation, chanting Her

name, homas, seva, satsunga, etc., Maa Chandi responds to our efforts

and begins to remove those " extra " things so that we can spend less

time in the world and more time with Her.

It is the desire for moksha, which She gives us, which gives us a

purpose and then She gives us the techniques and strength to reach the

goal. It is all Her Grace.

And when the time is ripe, She will even take the desire for moksha,

remove it, and with all thoughts and desires eliminated, we will be in

Union with Her.

Since this is Navatri, the most powerful time to pray to Mother for

help, take a sankalpa for the next 3 days: chant the Navarana mantra,

Chandi's mantra, as often as possible, and offer Her all your desires,

and fears, and anger and passion, and Too Much and Too Little, and

share with us how you feel.

She will come, She will heal you.

Jai Maa Jai Swami
