Guest guest
Dear Family, Let us continue our discussion of the Holy Chandi Path! In verses 48-49, Medhas Muni says that the objects of the senses are perceived differently by all beings. What is this seeing? Is it confined to perception with our senses? What is its significance to Suratha and Samadhi, in light of their problems? Why does the sage mention this? I look forward to your thoughts and discussion. Guest guest
Everyone sees things according to their experiences and senses.Ex.: Put a object in the middle of a circle of people and each one will see and describe it differently. Imagine putting a large rock in the center of a circle of all of us. Each person will see a different side of it. Every ones eyes see a little differently. The suns rays will hit each side of the rock dif. thus causing dif. shadows and images for each to see. Then there is the past experience and preference of each person according their beliefs that will come into play. And many more things. Now if you put a question to the same circle such as, "what is love", "why does hate exist", " how can we help this person" and so on. You will get and even deeper range of opinion.Keep in mind that we are growing and changing with every min. Our thoughts and beliefs change with our studies, meditation, sadhana, etc.So we may see this same object differently in a seconds time.Ex. Once every one in circle tells what they see your site of it changes. You are now influenced by what they perceive.Your eyes are opened to how they experienced it.Now you too will see it differently. With this knowledge we begin to realize that although we are all one we HAVE had different experiences and with this knowledge we can be more understanding, forgiving and loving with EVERYONE, EVERYTHING.In the context of the Chandi, the wife and family of this sad man have their reasons for acting the way they did. These men have their reasons for acting the way they are acting. They each are REACTING according to their up bringing, beliefs, experiences in the past and their senses. Each one believes they are doing what is best for THEM> In that light, each of us will also answer this question differently according to our own past, senses, beliefs and so on.Look forward to learning what everyone else has to say on this. There is so much to learn in this wonderful text.Thank you for the honor of studding it with such a great open and honest group!Love,Devisrini_sadhu <srini_sadhu wrote: Dear Family, Let us continue our discussion of the Holy Chandi Path!
