Namaste all: tonight in Chandi class, Swami explained a technique

sadhus perform to help them experience freedom from attachment. He

described his sadhana years ago when he felt inspired to give Mother

Divine all of his possessions. He put everything he owned: passport,

money, books, and clothes on the altar, and naked, he performed worhsip.

He felt so light and free, nothing left, just total dependence on

Mother. He realized that everything belongs to Her. And, everything

he receives is Her prasad. We are simply custodians of that which She

gives us.

After Swami finished the story, one of the devotees asked: " Swami,

could we perform this technique? "

Swami thought for a moment and replied: " yes, it would be good to

perform this sadhana. At a certain point in the Cosmic puja, offer

all to Mother. It is a great mile stone in a sadhu's path to offer

all to Her and realize that one owns nothing. And one is totally

dependent on Her, for everything. To experience that freedom changes

one's mental and emotional outlook. "
