Guest guest
Namaste Friends, Thank you all for your sharing about your Chandi Sadhana. Its all very inspiring! Swamiji on several occasions has emphasized that the objective is to offer our negativities to Mother as only She can take them away. Maa says that we can pray to Divine Mother at the time of each meditation for each chapter. Swamiji also said that factors to consider as we do our sadhana are: 1. the asana (Swamiji recommends Siddhasana). Keeping our body still, which in turn makes our mind still. As every movement of the body is a movement of the mind. Swamiji's Guru said that sitting for 4 hours is needed to attain asan siddhi. 2. the pranayam (inhale a mantra, and exhale half a verse, one verse, or more consistently) 3. the understanding of the meaning of what we are chanting, 4. pronunciation - correct pronunciation aids pranayam as most verses in the Chandi are in the same metre. 5. the application of what we learned from the Chandi into our daily lives. 6. the bhava, the feeling with which we chant. In my humble opinion, the main challenge is that we do it and the secondary challenge is how we do it. And for that we have to be ruthless about how we re-organize our lives so that sadhana becomes a priority. The second thing that helps is satsang, being with people who have the same sadhana interests. I look forward to more thoughts on how we can stay inspired to make God a central part of our lives!
