I am struggling with the word 'bibhraanaamanalaatmikaam' in the

dhyaanam at the start of Chapter Twelve. I don't understand how it is

put together (and thus the dictionary is no help either). Your help

would be greatly appreciated,

दà¥à¤°à¥à¤—ा (Durgaa), used here in the

accusative singular -- दà¥à¤°à¥à¤—ामà¥à¥¤

(Durgaam). बिभà¥à¤°à¤¾à¤£à¤¾à¤®à¥ (biBraaNaam)

+ अनलातà¥à¤®à¤¿à¤•à¤¾à¤®à¥|

(analaatmikaam)

 

बिभà¥à¤°à¤¾à¤£à¤¾à¤®à¥ (biBraaNaam) is a

continuation of the previous line. It reads

हसà¥à¤¤à¥ˆà¤ƒ

चकà¥à¤°à¤—दासिखेटविशिखामà¥

चापमॠगà¥à¤£à¤®à¥

तरà¥à¤œà¤¨à¥€à¤®à¥ (च)

Verb root भृ (BRu) + present participle in the

feminine, singular बिभà¥à¤°à¤¾à¤£à¤¾

(biBraaNaa). Declined in the accusative as it is an

adjective of दà¥à¤°à¥à¤—ामà¥à¥¤ (Durgaam).

 

Hence बिभà¥à¤°à¤¾à¤£à¤¾à¤®à¥ (biBraaNaam) +

अनलातà¥à¤®à¤¿à¤•à¤¾à¤®à¥| (analaatmikaam)

अनलः (analaH) -- Noun आतà¥à¤®à¤¿à¤•à¤¾

(aatmikaa)

adjective in the feminine singular. declined in the

accusative as it is also an adjective of

दà¥à¤°à¥à¤—ामॠ(Durgaam). Hence

अनलातà¥à¤®à¤¿à¤•à¤¾à¤®à¥ (analaatmikaam).

qualified and approved Sanskrit teacher.
