Guest guest
Namaste all family: I took the questions we have been discussing about harmony and stressful relations and asked Swami to help us. The questions and answers are below. QUESTION How does one become harmonious with one's family? What attitude should one take in order to get along with everyone, in all situations? SWAMI'S RESPONSE: Can you make the family into an organization? Try to define each one of the member's goals. Try to assign a list of deliverables. See how we can help each member of the family achieve his or her goals. > QUESTION: If one is not getting along with another, what can one do to become harmonious? SWAMI'S RESPONSE Stop! Point to the goal and try to get everyone past the emotion and directed towards the actions which bring success. QUESTION How does one see God in someone who is not treating them well? SWAMI'S RESPONSE: We need to practice looking beyond the actions, and looking within the actors. If we stop for a moment while we are being mistreated, and think: what is my goal? What am I trying achieve? What response will bring me closer to my goals? How can my interaction with this individual help? These are all really good questions we can ask ourselves when we are feeling mistreated. Dear Family, how do these responses effect your perception? Let's talk some more.
