Namaste here is Swami's reply to a question about murtis on a devotees

altar. the question is below his answer.

SWAMI'S REPLY

The process of establishing life in a new Shiva murti is explained in

the Advanced Shiva Puja and Yajna book.

Since you have not officially established life in the Buddha deities,

you may remove them from the altar and replace them with the Shiva and

Ganesh. Or you can keep them on the altar and call them by different

names. They can be situated in your house as art pieces or you can

make small altars in various rooms of your home.

You most certain can prepare your own image either in sculpture or any

other art and uses that for worship. It is best to worship the image

we make ourselves.

namaste Vish

First, thank you for bringing Swamiji so many of our questions.

I have a follow-up that most likely you, or someone in the group can

answer.

Is it necessary to " officially " establish life in every murti,

picture, etc., in order to properly worship/use in our puja?

Thanks
