Guest guest
Namaste: Swami is respondiong to a question from a devotee who lost a loved one. QUESTION: My sister called me this morning to remind me and to tell me that she was told that on the anniversary of the death of an ancestor, one could ask a boon of the ancestor. The boon I ask is acceptance which brings peace ... for me and for any others who struggle with and of the Great Ego's emmissarys. > > P.S. I would be interested to know from Swamiji if this practice my sister told me of is Hindu. Is he aware of it? Can he tell us anything further about it? Thank you so much. _____- SWAMI'S RESPONSE Please take a look at the tarpan viddhi at http://www.shreemaa.org/drupal/node/293 Where we are today, with the understanding we have today, is the result of the path that we have followed since birth. We took birth in a family that provided the most conducive environment for us to perfect our karma, the issues that have been outstanding that we were meant to correct in this lifetime. Now we are in a good place, with good understanding. So we want to show our respect and appreciation for all that our predecessors performed to help us get to this space. That is the boon! ____ Jai Maa Jai Swami vishweshwar >
