Dear Vishweshwar,

Spiritual practices help us remember the True Supreme Self. When the mind, over a period of time, is lead to one-pointedness by such practices it eventually dissolves in the Self (where there is no 'mind'), revealing the Self. This is the goal.

Until one-pointedness is attained, with Divine Grace, the practices done over a period of time calm the mind, dissolve hard thoughts, lessen the intentisity of revival of the mental imprints caused by negative experiences, dissolve energy blockages in the heart. The result is more healing and increased ability to do our duties with more attention.

Jai Maa !

OK...I'l take a stab at this.

Any spiritual practice is an act of will that interrupts the mechanical, automatic, flow of dreams and fantasies in our minds (citta). The goal of all yoga is to halt the automatic flow of mental images, so that awareness can trace back its own origin in the Self (Atman).

Namaste Swamiji,

I feel God gently 'pushes' me to practice, I feel never happier than

when I practice, I trust She is there listening to me chanting and

every time I chant, She allows me to get to know Her better. I feel I

am exactly where I am supposed to be. As long as I practice.

" Yet still, after seeing that beauty, the Great Ego struck out in

anger; this is a greatly incomprehensible act. "

may the Divine Mother teach me consistency in practice,

may your example be ever before me,

with love and deepest respect,

Namaste,

I bought a new journal for August, and the title had a Mary Engelbreit

quote:

" Walk towards the Sunshine, and the shadows will fall behind you. "

For me that answered Swamiji's question...walking is practice and

Sunshine is God. When you move toward God, all else falls behind. Then

there's only GOD.

Hello Everyone, thank you Swami for the question. I find that there

are many temptations throughout my day to get caught up in the

experience of " I, Me, Mine " . But if I start my day, first thing in the

morning, with spiritual practices, offering the day to Divine Mother,

and then practice remembrance and surrender throughout the day and

before bedtime, then my awareness of God's presence remains more

constant. My mind is more centered in perceiving all interactions as

service to Divine Mother. And it even seems that others are more

loving and kind around me, and like little serendipidies happen that

are in alignment with Divine Mother's essence. With gratitude for Her

grace, Jennifer

What a difficult question! So many people have responded in so many

different ways - it appears to be that the presence of God is a very

personal experience for each. Is there an underlying common factor?

Is there any collective positive outcome for all out of this personal

experience? Does it shed ignorance? Does it help one relate better to

the world and material/empirical reality -with clarity?

The Vedantin says the ultimate realisation of the presence of God is

in the knowledge that we are 'whole' one with God.

My own 'scientific' system of education which created a deep divide

between the inner world (mere emotions) and the outer world (facts and

realities) led me to a total estrangement from the inner world. I

think this is true for many. However, science has moved on from that

approach and the quantum discovery of the inseperability of the inner

and the outer has contributed to the 'seamless universe' theory.

And I have moved on from the outer world to the inner world which

remained neglected for so long....through, what better than, spiritual

practices in the long tradition of the Sanatana Dharma, so well

interpreted by Maa and Swami in their various books.

It has helped me deepen my insights, be more aware of my inner

calling, and the strength and courage to deal w the various issues of

empirical reality, with the the deep knowledge of the truth. The

presence of God becomes more real in my life...

Beloved Swamiji,

Namaste and many thanks for this question.

Spiritual practices enhance the presence of God by enabling the mind to rise above the negative thoughts and actions according to the level of the disciple/devotee.

Whenever I visit the Mandir, everything is always so amazingly bright and the Gods and Goddess are ready to dance from the altar. After a few days of blessed sadhana in the company of beings on the same path, the Gods and Goddessess are still dancing but the bright light is as `normal' and the worldly thoughts that would normally try to constantly creep into the mind seem to be put to sleep bringing the mind more in focus with the goal.

Vish, many thanks for conveying this message.

Namste Swamiji, Namaste Vishveshwar, Namaste All Family,

Swamiji's question has occupied my being and existence. I have been

moved by the various responses and am truly humbled.

Yet I am unable to shake myself free from myriads of thoughts. I think

more than the spiritual practices it is the blessings of the Guru that

have enhanced the presence of God in my life. Some of it is certainly

the inner spark within us, but the spark is ignited by the Guru -the

TRUE BELOVED GURU.

So many of us practiced meditation, worship, prayer, yoga... but when

Maa and Swamiji turned their attention on us they enhanced God's

presence in our lives and turned our homes and hearts into temples.

Their blessings, their love and compassion, their lives, their

spiritual existence have enhanced the presence of God in my life.

Swamiji's translations of scriptures, Maa's lovely ethereal voice,

their encouragement.... I cannot compare what I have received in

blessings from them to spiritual practices in my entire existence.

The understanding, wisdom, knowledge and feeling of harmony have

flooded into my life through e-mails from swamiji and Maa's blessings.

May I be worthy of this divine family.

Namaste Swamiji,

Thank you for the opportunity to answer a question that You ask (for a

change!)

God is present in my life through repetition of His name – not only

through mantra but also through song. In honor of this special month

devoted to Shiva, I decided to sit down at my harmonium and sing Shiva

bhajans. I sang songs written by Beloved Shree Maa, in addition to

other tunes. And then suddenly I found myself spontaneously composing

my own love song to Shiva.

Time flew by, unnoticed. Tears were rolling down my cheeks.

And in that moment, I knew – this is the spiritual practice that

allows God to remain present in my life. I sing, I chant, I love.

Jai Maa!

Jai Swamiji!

love
