Guest guest
Dear friends, because your Birthday Club coordinator will be away from the computer for a couple of weeks and thus will not be able to notify you all on the day, we thought it best to select one humongous Seed of Wisdom from the Devi Mandir Garden of Bliss for our brothers and sisters having their birthday in August. Dear Nanda (fifth), Kanti Devi (seventh) and Neil (tenth), please accept this extraordinary Seed as a token of the love and appreciation of all your friends and family at the Devi Mandir . We will think of you on the day and wish you all a happy birthday!! The Maidservant " There was one servant woman from the lower caste who would bow down to Shree Maa every day before she went to her work of cleaning houses. She was thinking inside herself, " Mother is always around rich people. She will never come to my house. I am so poor. I cannot invite Shree Maa to my house. " One day Shree Maa told some devotees, " I would like to go to that servant woman's house. " " Mother, she is not home. How can we find her home? We know the direction of her home, but not the exact location. " Mother said, " Then let's go. We'll find it. " So Shree Maa, along with a couple of devotees, went in search of the home, and after numerous inquiries, found the one-bedroom servant's quarters on the fourth floor of a tenement house. When she got into the room, she found a young child about two or three years old all alone. Shree Maa went into the kitchen, and after cleaning the whole place, prepared food. She cooked a number of dishes, made sure the child ate, offered everything with flowers upon the counter, and then returned to where she was staying and sat down as though nothing had happened. The next day the maidservant came to where Mother was staying and told everyone that somebody cleaned my house and prepared food for me. " Who would do such a thing? Do I have to take my baby to work with me and lock my room? Who would cook for me, a lowly servant? " One of Mother's devotees began laughing and she could not stop. Finally she told her, " It was Mother that came to your house and prepared your food. " Then the maidservant began to cry. While the maidservant was crying, Mother came and hugged her. " (Shree Maa, the Life of a Saint, p.67f.) may the flowers from this Seed for ever bloom in your innermost room, Devi Mandir Birthday Club
