Thank you so much Brien for your reply, I would hate to have

our friends searching the sky on the 27th and be disappointed.

I had seen something similar back in 2003, even observed it with

my son and had forgotten the similarity to this mail.

So sorry guy's that I didn't check this out before forwarding it

Two moons on 27th August

 

 

 

27th Aug the Whole World is waiting for............. Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

 

Sandy, this is a hoax. Mars will never loom that large in our sky. If it is, we're all doomed because a collision is imminent! LOL The event this speaks of actually occurred back in August, 2003. Mars was the closer to Earth than it had been or would be for several centuries. However, at it's closest peak, it was not near as bright or as large as Venus. It had a definite pinkish hue that was easy to see, but no way it ever rivaled our moon in size. Check it out at Snopes: http://www.snopes.com/science/mars.asp
