Guest guest
Namaste all: Part 2 of the first verse says: " Wipe out all the dross of sin from your mind, search for the faults in the pleasures of the world, search your own soul for true knowledge, and very quickly try to remounce the attachments to your home. " Wow, are these powerful thoughts. As Swami says: " by worshipping Shiva, we cultivate the qualities of infinite consciousness, unattachment, and freedom from bondage to this world of objects and their relationships. " ...we begin to identify with that which does not change, not the extrinsic nature. We become a witness of the changes of nature. From this perspective we act and interact in the world. Another way to think of it, as Krishna said to Arjuna in the Gita: " become established in Being, then perform action. Be without the 3 gunas, then act in the world. It is very difficult to intellectually change the way you think and perceive the world. Very difficult to say, for example: " I am not this world, I am Pure Consciousness. " But, these changes we desire can occur, by performing worship, by using the mantras, those sacred sounds which take away the mind, one begins to experience the more subtle, more charming, more profound sacred levels of life, until one leaves the mind and goes into samadhi. There, no experiencer, no object of perception, just pure bliss. Just like the wave settling down and experiencing its royal nature as the Ocean. It is always a part of the Ocean, but it thinks it is a separate wave, riding high and mighty. But when it settles down, it remembers who it is: The Pure and Mighty Ocean. Coming out of this state of Pure Consciousness, one's entire perception is changed. Now one has the strength, harmony, and bliss to begin to root out the dross of the mind, and search for the faults in the pleasures of the world, and to search one's own soul for true knowledge. Yes, Maa and Swami, and the great tradition of Masters leading back through thousands of years, back to Lord Shiva, have kept this knowledge alive, and when we tap into it, and have faith in our Masters, and perform the sadhana as they have performed it, we too will know that we are God, we are Shiva, we are Divine. And knowing that, as we move in this world, life will change around us, and the world will become a better place.
