Guest guest
Namaste all: Verse 2, Part 1, from the introduction to Advanced Shiva Puja, by Shankar Acharya states: " Maintain the association of true people, take refuge with devotion in the Supreme Divinity, and with all your capacity try to befriend the universe, and very quickly renounce the fruits of your labors. " The Great Sage is giving us the keys to Heaven in these words. He begins this verse by reminding us of the value of satsunga. When we come together in satsunga, each devotee brings something to share: love, support, devotion, knowledge, and empathy, etc., and the whole satsunga becomes greater than the sum of its parts. Remember how blissful we felt discussing being " One Soul, One Family " several weeks ago here in our club? That bliss came as a result of the Grace which flows from our satsunga That blissful energy, that love of each other, of the Master, and of God, begins to melt and dissolve the deep seated patterns within our hearts, minds, and thoughts. We begin to relate to the more subtle, universal, eternal, non-changing values of life rather than the ever changing thoughts, emotions, and circumstances which swirl around us like leaves in the wind. Thus we become friends with the universe. We act in accord with God's desire, rather than our own selfish desires. We have faith that God will always be with us, and he will protect us always. By not working for money, name, fame, power, or to gratify the ego, the less negative karma we create for ourselves and this world. Acting in this way, we become less concerned about the fruits of our actions. As it says in the Bible, " Let thy will be done...: accept God's will and you will be free. Thanks to Maa and Swami for giving us this knowledge, and the means to gain God's grace. Jai Ma Jai Swami vishweshwar
