Guest guest
Namaste dear family, I hope those of you who chant regularly with Swamiji can answer this one: I have been trying to cultivate regularity in chanting two verses to the breath in my Chandi recitation. I have tried to find something to hold onto by taking the verse number as point of departure, so I would take a breath only on the even verses for instance. But there are many shorter verses, like 'the rishi said', which count as verse, but do not have the syllables required. Also, I seem to remember verses like these are to be taken as one with the preceding verse? Or with the one before? Anyway, what I am trying to communicate here is that I would like to know is how you manage to become steady in pranayama. Is there a rule for when you forget to take a breath at the correct interval (and I do forget as I get engrossed in the story!)? How do you get into the correct rhythm again? Should I count the syllables and mark the verses in my copy of the text? In the past I have tried to find out via the webcam on Sundays but invariably after a while I lost the connection and then had enormous trouble finding where you all had got to in the mean time, which did not help my breathing pattern at all:) thank you for any help you can offer, with love, Henny (I've changed my id because I received funny mail with my own Id as sender. I hope none of you received any. If so, it was not sent by me!)
