Guest guest
Namaste Maadevi and all: Maadevi, your quote brought to mind another powerful thought which Ramakrishna shared with His devotees over 100 years ago. He said, and I only recreate His quote roughly: " ...men cry for their loved ones, cry when there is pain and suffering, but how many men cry for God? You have to cry for God in order to see His face. Cry for Him above all else. " How does one obtain and experience that vaikulata? That overwhelming devotional desire, that desire which overrides all else, to know God? Only through God and the Guru's Grace. I remember Swami praying on behalf of us all during Chapter 13 of the Chandi last Sunday, when She asks what boon She can grant. He prayed that we would all experience the growth of vaikulata. Then we will think of God always, as a wife thinks of Her husband, as a mother Her child, as a servant in the house of her master, serving her master always, yet she dreams of her home. In that state of being, our minds will not wander, and our hearts will be on God. Oh, Maa and Swami, we know you are Divinity in the flesh, allow us to serve you as God, and grant us this Grace.
