Guest guest
Dear maadevi ~ it never occurred to me to ask Swamiji about this challenge. I am going to see how my hubby responds to me putting my altar together, first because, as I said in my post to Shankari, I very well may be making a mountain out of a molehill. The outpouring of support from the group has been amazing and I know that so often, when there are limitations (aside for the very real physical ones due to my illnesses), I have a tendency to make them very large, when often, I think I could just go around them. Some of this has to do with mutual sensitivity, and David and I are still finding our way. This does bring to a mind a story my sister told me. She was someplace where Maa and Swamiji were visiting to do homa and puja, and she was walking with Maa. She complained to Maa about her husband, and when she told me Maa's response, I literally got goosebumps. Maa said, very directly, "You worship him." After that my sister put a picture of her husband on her altar and has never forgotten what Maa told her. Guest guest
Namaste Linda, This sure is great news, just proceed slowly by not putting up all the items at one go. We want to build peace in all of our actions. My husband follows the orthodox way but through Maa and Swamiji's teachings it is often quite easy to show him a different perspective which at times he accepts other times not. May the Creator of the Perceivable universe and She He manifests Peace grant you the grace to see and hear only God-good in all things and circumstances. With much love.
