Their Master comes to visit. The first disciple asks the Master: " When will I know God? The Master thinks then replies: " In 25,000 lifetimes. " The disciple is upset by these words. " Such a long time " , he says, frowning. The second disciple then asks the Master, " How long until I know God? The Master pauses, thinks for a moment, then says: " 50,000 lifetimes. " The disciple is so upset. The third disciple asks the Master: " When will I know God? " The Master thinks for some time then says: " See that tree there? Count how many leaves are on that tree. Many, many, many leaves. That is how long it will take you to know God. " The disciple jumpes up, dances with abandon, and shouts with joy, " I WILL know God, I WILL know God.
