We have been having an unusual amount of rain recently and a few weeks ago I got caught one evening, it was really pouring in torrents and there was water everywhere. At first I thought of parking the vehicle and waiting on someone to come collect me but then I looked up at Sri Ramakrishna picture hanging from the mirror immediately my free hand grabbed hold of the beads, i said Maa i am the car, You are the Driver, then with all of the gusto, devotion and attention for which this child was able i chanted aloud – om namo bagavate sriramakrsnaya namo namah – how many repetitions were done? i have no idea, it took me just short of 30 mins to reach the house and before I got out I sat and offered a word of pray, thanking God for bringing me safely and for all those whom were stranded in stalled cars or having to shelter from the torrents. I have never had to battle with so much water before it was a scary experience but thank God that the grace of this discipline made a difference in my life.
