Guest guest
Namaste Shankari Kali: I posted Swami's response to Renuka's question regarding Chandi mantra and worship. It is very helpful to all of us. In my personal experience, obtaining the darshan of Mother Divine is not measured in time or numbers of mantras chanted, but in the devotee's heartfelt cry to Her. Maa's Guru Ramakrishna said, and this is the essence of His words: " ....we cry in this world when we have problems, if we loose a spouse or need some material help, but we never cry for God. If we really cried for God, She would come. Cry for Her.... " Another story Maa tells in Her autobiography: LIVING WITH THE SOUL goes like this: ...a disciple asked his Guru what it would take to realize God. the Guru suggested they go swimming. When the went into the water, without warning, the Guru pushed the disciple's head under the water. As the disciple struggled for air, the Guru continued to hold his head down. At the last moment, when the disciple was desperate to breath, the Guru lifted his head out of the water. With a huge grasp, the disciple gulped in air. He sputtered to the Guru, " why did you did that? " The Guru replied that one must want God as much as one struggled to get a breath of air. Then God will come to you. " As Swami says, we try our best, and we pray daily for Maa to increase our devotion and sincerity, and when Maa is ready, She will come. Oh we thank Her, that we have the examples in Maa and Swami and Ramakrishna, and all the other Great Souls in this world, that we see that Maa has come to them, so surely She will come to us.
