Guest guest
Dear All Today was a(nother) special day at the Mandir. Maa and Swamiji have just been back in the US for nearly a week, and this is the first Chandi Sunday with Swamiji after more than a month. It is good to have them back. This day, on Dec 7th, the elders of the Badaga community in the Niligiris (hills in Tamil Nadu state of South India) decreed that the members of the community light a lamp and propitiate the kuladevata Goddess Hethai to grant peace to the world. So the Badaga devotees of the Mandir decided to propitiate Goddess Hethai in the temple, by presenting ShreeMaa the traditional offerings associated with the Goddess. Even before the morning Chandi began, we offered ShreeMaa a gorgeous umbrella symbolizing the Goddess , which had been painstakingly decorated by one of Maa's devotees. We requested Maa and Swamiji that we may offer puja to Her for world peace and they graciously accepted. After the Chandi, we performed the puja to ShreeMaa - waved the lights while chanting the mantra of Hethai Amma, offered a dakshina along with some lovingly prepared food, and prayed to Her for world peace. Maa was very happy and very pleased with her children. I hope to share pictures of this event soon. Until then ... Guest guest
Dear Nanda, It brought such joy to read about and the decision the Badaga community of the Nilgiris to propitiate Goddess Hethai for world peace, and that they joined Shree Maa and Swamiji in propitiating Goddess Chandi for World Peace! Between California and the Nilgiris we have a wide range of communities who can become links in this chain to light lamps of love and devotion for world peace. I was wondering what we could do here in Tehran to join in to make our offerings for world peace and to show our solidarity...light lamps in the shrine of Hazrat Massoumeh in Qom perhaps? I think many here would prefer to light lamps in their homes (and their hearts) with a special prayer for world peace. We could fix a day or a week. Glad to see your post. Having met in Benares I can now imagine you right here as I read your post, with your mop of curls and that serious face which broke into a lovely smile occasionally and your warmth and friendliness. Lots of love Jai Maa and Jai Swamiji And Victory to the Devi Mandir Family Manjushri , " Nanda " <chandimaakijai wrote: > > > Dear All > > Today was a(nother) special day at the Mandir.
