Vish, another note on your question:

You already are on track since you are at the ashram. There is no need to get back on it. whatever the experience, sadhana keeps you on track... then a point comes when you see these experiences... its like you are on a train to reach your goal, you are enjoying the ride and you see the minds experiences on the side indifferently like looking out of a window. Thats the way I feel about this.
