Guest guest
Namaste all family: I want to pass on a key teaching from Swami. When you greet him, or call him on the phone, and ask him how he is doing, he will respond with great vigor: " I am Divine. How are you? " How would you respond when you are asked that question? Oh, fine, feeling well, thanks Swami. Well, the shock of hearing someone you love and trust make this statement with so much love, really makes you think: well, if he is Divine, what am I? Am I this mortal body? Am I these thoughts of fear or anger or pain or suffering? Or, am I really the Eternal Soul, beyond pain and suffering, and these thoughts and emotions which I " see " in my mind, they are just like clouds moving across the face of the sun. Then, through the Grace he sends your way, you break through all the thought forms in your head and heart and announce: " I am Divine too. " And you really feel it. Swami teaches us that we are the thoughts we dwell upon. Thus, he fills his mind with mantras. And as a result, his Divinity, his true nature, has flowered. He tells us how often he has chanted the entire Chandi in his dreams. Then he awakens and goes to the fire and chants it again. He advises us to put our attention on our Divinity, our true nature, and it will grow stronger. Sure, we will slide back into the mud, and doubts creep in, but each of you have shared some technique which helps you to remember your true Self. Do it with faith, knowing that the Sun always rises, and you will again feel its warmth and its light will shine on you and warm your bones and light your path.
