When devotees new to Hindu practices come to the Mandir, Maa and Swami suggest they begin their spiritual quest by learning Shiva Puja for Beginners. There is a text and CD available to learn how to do the Shiva Puja. There is also an excellent tutorial available on the FILES section to the left of the message screen. To understand Maa and Swami and our tradition, and the reason why we do what we do, I suggest reading the great book: BEFORE BECOMING THIS " which is a series of interviews with Maa and Swami covering all aspects of Hinduism. Another powerful book is Shree Maa's Biography entitled: LIVING WITH THE SOUL. Maa discusses her life from childhood to the present. It is an amazing story and it will open your heart. If you understand Maa's life and the spiritual practices she has performed, you will be able to relate to the discussions we have in this club. And, there are many video classes covering major Hindu texts stored at the Mandir web site. These can be downloaded and watched for free. The Devi Mandir web site, www.shreemaa.org contains a book store, where the above texts can be purchased, a virtual classroom of many hours of classes and devotion music, as well as a live web camera which links you directly to the Temple of the Mandir where you can watch Maa and Swami and the devotees worship daily. Dive in, ask questions, begin your practice, and share your explorations of consciousness.
