Guest guest
Namaste Kumari and all family: Thanks for sharing Kumari. I taught meditation for many years and can share many learning points, but until an expereience is described, or, a question asked, it is difficult to discuss these subtle experiences. It really adds another dimension to the puja experience when one adds meditation. I meditated again today at the end of puja, and it was very sweet. I agree with you that making the effort is the key. But we don't want to make the meditation a process of effort and strain. I agree there can be some " resistance " when one begins the mantra, as the mind wants to move back into activity, or onto its own agenda. This resistance comes throughout the meditation too, in the form of thoughts, emotions, boredom, physical sensations, etc. So what to do when faced with those thoughts, emotions, etc., during meditation? We just easily come back to the mantra when we realize we are thinking other thoughts, or feeling " antsy " , bored, etc. We don't try to force the mantra. We don't strain. In this way, naturally, we will settle into the rhythm of breathing and repeating the mantra if one is doing the 1 -4 - 2 mantra technique. This same process of returning to the mantra, easily, without strain is used in most other forms of closed eye meditation too. However many times we leave the mantra and return to it, does not matter. We just take it as it comes. Whenever we realize we are off the mantra, we just easily return to it. Each of us will experience meditation differently, and it will be different on different days: depending on what we ate, how we slept, our emotional condition, etc. So, we just take it one day at a time, and whatever comes, flow with it. I hope each of you can share your experiences so we can all learn together. Jai Maa Jai Swami vishweshwar , Joan Fisher <mjfisher2005 wrote: > > This is so very true. Thank you for sharing, Vish. After puja I take time to chant my mantra and then sit to meditate as best I can. I must remember that when I need to meditate the most is when I am least inclined. It takes a bit to overcome that resistance, but I am always happy when I do. Ma knows my heart, but I still need to make the effort. > > With Love for all, > Kumari >
